Self Portrait With Diamonds
This self portrait is far more realistic than most portraits I have painted of myself in the past….in most cases my portraits portray me as a character rather than someone real and vulnerable, but this time I tried to take a closer look at myself and I think this painting reflects a more vulnerable and sensitive side of who I really am.
My hair is white and has been since I was quite young …….this fact alone has reflected on how I view myself. I could of course color my hair which I did for many years and never felt quite me, so I have chosen to keep it natural as this abnormality reflects who I am…and I like that.
The diamonds represent my hair as my crown! “Sharna”
